Weekend Getaway

Jason and I had a much needed weekend away this weekend. After last week (the kids and I got a cold virus and were home bound all week) I was so ready to get away with my sweet hubby. My mom and Jerry were so great to come here and stay with the kids-THANK YOU!! We headed to Dallas yesterday morning ready for some much needed time alone. We were lucky to catch up with our sweet friends Ricky & Jocelyn and finally meet little Noah when we got into town. We enjoyed some lunch, checked into our hotel and then relaxed by the pool yesterday afternoon. Last night we went to our family friends wedding and spent time with some of our "Aggie family." We had a great time and enjoyed getting dressed up, dancing, and having adult conversation. Since we didn't have our little alarm clocks with us, sleeping in this morning was BLISS! Jason's mom met us in Dallas this weekend as well, so we were able to celebrate her birthday early with her over lunch today. This was our first time to leave Davis overnight since she was born and I'm happy to say she did great! As much as we loved the time away and alone we still missed our sweet little ones and were excited to see them when we got home. I feel refreshed, rested and thankful for the weekend and look forward to another sooner than later :).

Happy Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day celebrating Jason. Just a few reasons why we celebrate him...He first is the best husband which then makes him the best daddy to our precious kids. He would do anything for Greyson and Davis and does not take them for granted. I love that we can still laugh even when we feel like we are struggling as parents. We are blessed to have such a strong man leading our family. Jason works hard to provide for us everyday. Thanks for sharing parenthood with me, I hope your day was special Jason, we love you so much!

11 Months

Our baby girl is one month away from her 1st birthday, as she was 11 months yesterday. I know I sound like a broken record, but I just don't know where the time has gone. She is such a joy in our lives and we all enjoy her so much. She has 8 teeth which just amazes me because Greyson didn't get his first tooth until he was 13 months old. She still is not walking, but I know it is coming soon. I'm actually enjoying her not walking because she is a fast crawler and I can envision the fast running that she will be capable of! Greyson loves his sister and they have become quite the playmates; for this I am so thankful. We are enjoying the summer with Davis and all the firsts she is experiencing. Here she is enjoying one of her new favorite things!

Children's Museum

Greyson and I went to the Children's Museum this morning. Lauren was so sweet to keep Davis so that I could just focus on him (THANKS Lauren). Greyson loves the Children's Museum and so do I. He can run free, explore and play with things he doesn't have at home. His favorite "exhibits" are the music room which have all kids of instruments that the kids can play and the old Volkswagen Beetle Bug that the kids can paint. I enjoyed our morning together and I think he did too!

Weekends Are My Favorite

Weekends are my FAVORITE!! I am sure they are a lot of peoples favorites because they don't have to work, can stay up late and sleep in the next morning, etc. For me though it is so much more than that because my "job" as a wife and mom never stops and I haven't slept in since Davis was born-I'm really not complaining. The weekend is my treasured time with my husband and my family. It is the Saturday morning breakfasts together, extra time with my sweetie, watching Jason play with the kids and more that I look forward to all week long. It is the time that I can recharge for the coming week and just allow time to slow down a bit.

This weekend we all had a lot of fun together. We had breakfast and then hit a few garage sales. We went swimming Saturday morning, Greyson got a haircut that afternoon and then we took him for ice cream to celebrate him doing so well during the cut. This morning we went to church and then had a relaxing day at home. To top the whole weekend off, I got a nap on Saturday and Sunday!!

Is it next weekend yet??

An Activity Filled Week

We have had a fun week full of activities. On Tuesday Greyson and I went to the movies to see the new Veggie Tales movie. This was Greyson's 1st time to go to the theatre and see a movie-he did great! Sara was nice enough to keep Davis for me so Greyson and I could have some time out alone (THANKS Sara). Wednesday we went swimming w/ Sara, Sam, Elizabeth and Murphy. This was Davis's 1st time in a big pool and she loved it. Greyson enjoyed splashing around and pouring water on everyone. Today our playgroup met at the splash pad and it was yet another fun-filled day in the water! I forgot my camera to capture all of these fun events, so I'll just leave you with some cute pics we have taken at home. Have a great weekend!

I almost forgot to mention...Potty training is going really well!! The last couple days have been accident free, so I am very excited about that. We still have to work on pooping in the potty and out in public, but I know we'll get there.

Potty Training: Day 1 & 2

Saturday we took the plunge and decided it was time to start potty training Greyson. We got him his potty in February to start the process, but on a very laid back scale. Since Mother's Day Out is over for the summer I thought let's go ahead and give it a shot. Saturday we spent most of the day outside taking advantage of Greyson being a boy and not worrying about accidents inside. I must say he did very well...he had 10 successes on the potty!! Today was equally as successful considering 2 days ago he was just wearing diapers. We have a long way to go, but I am encouraged by the progress thus far. We'll keep you updated!
