Still Playing Catch Up

I am still so behind, but I won't blame pregnancy this time. Prepare for another long blog as I attempt to play catch-up again.

Greyson had a Batman birthday party this year and had a blast. Grandparents got him the Little Tikes bouncy house, so we set that up and the kids bounced away. He got lots of fun stuff including his Imaginext Batcave, that he LOVES. There is nothing more Greyson loves than being in the presence of his friends. Having them all there to celebrate his big day w/ him was so much fun for him!

Our friends the Hicks came into town the day of Greyson's party to enjoy some game day fun. We rode the Aggie bus to campus and took the kids to some of the pre-game stuff. They enjoyed watching the Corps & band march in and getting their faces painted. The guys stayed for the game and got to enjoy Maryann's cousins box seats...let's just say they both had a REALLY GOOD TIME ;) Maryann and I enjoyed a fun afternoon w/o the kiddos shopping around in some of the cute shops here. That night we went to dinner and enjoyed some delicious Italian food. We always enjoy our visits w/ the Hicks.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving w/ family and friends. We were able to spend some sweet time w/ my brother and future sister-in-law. The kids got lots of good attention and there was more food than you could even imagine...Davis really enjoyed it as you can see by the picture below.



After the craziness of Thanksgiving, our sweet boy turned 4 On November 28th. I just can't believe how the time has flown by. It just seems like yesterday that we welcomed a 5.11 lb tiny boy into the world and now he is growing before our eyes. He is such a fun addition to our family as he makes us laugh and has such a sweet heart. We had a fun day at home spending time as a family and celebrating him.

We have been enjoying celebrating the season and have done some fun things at home to prepare for Christmas. The kids really got into decorating the tree this year, which was a lot of fun to watch. We did our annual ginger bread house and I must say it turned out really good this year! I don't know if more candy made it on the house or in the kids mouths ;) One night we took the kids to "A Night in Bethlehem" that one of the churches here in town put on. It was a really neat experience and the kids loved it. They decorated ornaments, made bell necklaces, made bread, and had their picture taken w/ Mary & Joseph. Each child went home w/ an Advent calendar that they have enjoyed doing every day.

Thanksgiving Feast, 1st Haircut & New Lens

Greyson had his Thanksgiving Feast & Program today at school. It's so fun to see him in that setting w/ his friends and teachers. They sang 2 cute songs, recited a Bible verse all while they were dressed as indians, and then we ate lunch together. They made Thanksgiving placemats that had a quote of what they were thanful for. Greyson's read..."I thank God for Doctors, Animals, and Monsters". Not real sure about the monsters part, but cute regardless.





Davis had her 1st haircut today. It was finally time as her hair was literally down to almost the middle of her back. I don't know why it's so hard to take them for their 1st haircut but it just is. Maybe we feel like it's that last bit of baby that they have? She did great, surprisingly, sat very still and was excited to get her sucker at the end!


We got an early Christmas present this week, our new camera lens (Thanks Kay!). We dropped our "snapshot" lens for our camera a while back and just haven't sucked it up to get a new one. After much debate w/ our photographer friend Joseph, we decided to go w/ what he suggested. We like it so far and have enjoyed playing around w/ it. Here are some pics of my 3 favorite people.

There's a good reason...

Brace yourself for a very long post. This is my attempt to catch up on my lack of blogging over the past 2 months. There's a good reason why I'm so behind, but you'll have to wait and see why :)

Tonight we let the kids have a picnic dinner on the living room floor while we watched the beginning of the terrible A&M/OU game. We have never let the do this before, so they thought it was pretty neat to be eating dinner and watching TV at the same time.

We were lucky to catch up with some old friends the Wilson's a few Sundays ago for lunch. We have known Ricky and Jocelyn from our early married days way before kids. They've got a sweet little boy Noah that the kids loved playing with. It was so fun to visit and catch up with such sweet friends.

A couple weeks ago, Jonathan was nice enough to do a Fire Station tour for our playgroup. The kids got to see Jonathan in all of his gear, check out the fire truck, and even see the big ladder truck. Thanks Jonathan!




My previous blog on Dewberry Farms was not very descriptive...we had a great time with the Moffitt's and the Strickland's on our trip out there. The kids loved doing all the fun things the farm has to offer. As you can see they were exhausted from a fun filled day.




So here is the reason I've been so behind on the blogging. That's right, we are having a baby! This baby was a SURPRISE, but we are so excited to welcome this little one some time around June 5th. I have been feeling pretty yucky the past few weeks but am hopeful that I'm close to the end. Gresyon and Davis are both very excited about the "baby in mommy's tummy"! We'll keep you posted on our exciting news!

Our weekend

We had such a fun weekend! Friday we went to the Country Fair at church. The kids enjoyed playing games, eating cotton candy & hot dogs, and seeing all their friends. Greyson was a pirate and Davis was a cowgirl. Saturday we went trick or treating with several families which was so much fun-Greyson was still a pirate and Davis was a princess. The kids loved going door to door to get candy and really had it down on what they were suppose to say, etc. After trick or treating we went back to some friends house for dinner and a back yard movie of the Charlie Brown Halloween. It was such a fun night sharing the experience w/ friends we love and watching our kids have so much fun-thanks Sledges for such a fun night. Today we decorated our Halloween house (even though it was Nov 1st) and the kids loved putting all the candy on the house (and eating it). By far our most fun Halloween yet!

A little catch up on October

October has come and almost gone, and I am very behind on blogging. Here's a little catch up on what we've been up to.

Yesterday our playgroup met at one of the local pumpkin patches. It was a beautiful, crisp, fall day and the kids enjoyed running around and looking at all the pumpkins.





The 1st weekend in October we headed to Houston to spend the weekend w/ my mom and step-dad. My mom is a breast cancer survivor so it is a tradition to do the Race for the Cure each year together. This was a monumental year as we celebrated my mom as a 15-year SURVIVOR!!! As we finished the race I was overwhelmed with emotions as I realized how lucky I am to still have my mom w/ us. It is heart-breaking to see all the people that are walking to celebrate the life of a lost loved one. Thank you Lord that we get to celebrate her as a survivor! I forgot my camera the morning of the race, but these are pictures of G & D doing one of their favorite things at Gran and Grandpa Jerry's house...feeding the birds and squirrels.

Aggie KidZone

Last Saturday we took the kids to enjoy some of the pre-game activites at the Aggie KidZone. I must say after watching the band and football team march in and getting their faces painted, riding the Aggie bus was still the highlight of the day! The kids see the buses all over town and are always asking to ride them, so we thought why not? On game day you can park at the mall and ride to campus for free-I always love free :) It was a fun afternoon!

New favorite

I have a new favorite for lunch or dinner that I thought I'd share...

Thai Chicken Wrap

For one wrap...
Large tortilla wrap
1/2 chicken breast
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp Brianna's Ginger Mandarin dressing
1/4c matchstick carrots
spinach
1/4c mandarin oranges
Mix dressing and peanut butter together spread on wrap. Stack remaining ingredients, roll and enjoy!!

Easy, quick, healthy & delicious!!

Our Cruise...finally

Finally, I got our pictures uploaded from our cruise. Life has just been crazy since we got back 2 weeks ago. All I can say about our trip is that it was heavenly getting away with the love of my life! We left out of Ft. Lauderdale with stops in Key West, Cozumel, and Belize City. We have been to Key West and Cozumel before but enjoyed going back. We really enjoyed our day in Cozumel sitting on the beach in front of the crystal blue water. We decided we should have done an "excursion" in Belize city to get out and see the true beauty of the area, but oh well. We enjoyed our time on the boat and forgot that you can actually relax in a pool when little ones aren't around to hang on you :) We stayed an extra night in Ft Lauderdale when we got back and loved it. It is a fun and beautiful city with lots to do, we look forward to returning for a long weekend sometime.
