Aggie Game Day

Aggie football began today! Sadly we lost, but enjoyed the festivities of the day. Aggie game days have been a huge part of my life as I started going to football games w/ my dad when I was about 3-years old. Jason and I were lucky to get season tickets this year so we are really excited about the season. We enjoyed the pre-game festivities spending time w/ our "Aggie Family" (all of my dad's old college friends and their families) and then headed off to the game. Despite the loss today, there is nothing that compares to being at Kyle Field on game day!

Construction Excitement

The city is finishing the park behind our house. Friday morning Greyson got to watch them bring the bridge for the walking trail in w/ a big crane. He thought is was the neatest thing and kept saying, "Mommy, look!" Thank you City of College Station for providing a morning of FREE entertainment for my son!

"Oh, Gosh!"

Greyson has picked up the phrase "oh, gosh". You learn what you say a lot of when your 2 1/2 year old starts using it as part of their "normal language". So, funny little story...tonight G had gotten out of his bed, I went in and told him "Greyson it is time to stay in your bed, if you get out again mommy is going to spank you." His reply..."oh, gosh mommy!" Of course I had to hold back the laughter, it still cracks me up to hear him say it.

The Poop Incident

For those of you that have gone through potty training, you will feel my pain...

For those of you that have not yet experienced the joys of potty training, this will simply be a story you will probably laugh at and ask yourself "what was she thinking?"...

So here goes it...
It was a nice morning, the kids and I had eaten breakfast I had my coffee in me. Davis went down for a nap, Greyson was about to have some room time. I thought to myself "perfect time for a nice quiet shower w/o little hands banging on the shower door saying "mommy, mommy, mommy." I take my shower, listen on both monitors-quiet in Davis' room, and G is playing nicely my himself. "I'll go ahead and put my make-up on and dry my hair as long as I can take advantage of a good thing. Make-ups on, pulling out the hairdryer out of the drawer and I stop in a moment of panic. I begin to think to myself "G did not poop this morning (he's like clockwork), and I have left him in his room w/ big boy underwear on unattended-CRAP!!! I run to his room say a little prayer "Lord, please don't let my worst nightmare come true when I open this door". Unfortunately, the Lord did not answer that prayer and I opened the door to a warzone of poop. What in the heck was I thinking to leave my son in real underwear unattended. It was one of those moments as a mom that you stop and say to yourself, "I really lost my mind that time!" I didn't even know where to begin...I took G outside to hose him off as he had tried to clean himself off w/ the wipes off his dresser and only made it worse. Threw him in the bathub for a bubble bath, threw all the toys that had been "hit" in a box for bleach soaking, and began scrubbing the carpet. Luckily my friend Sandy called and told me that vinegar is great at taking stains out of the carpet-perfect, I'll try anything and it worked!! So an hour and a half later I was done w/ my morning adventure and a great lesson learned :) I pray that all of you don't have to experience something so wonderful like this, and if you have, I do feel your pain and can laugh w/ you now.

What Were You Doing 10 Years Ago?
I was finishing up my term of working at Kanakuk up in Branson, MO. The Lord taught me a lot that summer and to top it all off, I met the love of my life! I was on cloud nine and didn't think life could get any better than it was then.

Things On My To-Do List Today:
"Sleep in" as late as the kids will let us, go garage saleing, go to dads' for lunch and visit w/ my uncle that is in town, go to Target, take an afternoon nap, spend time together as a family, watch a movie tonight w/ Jason.

What Are Some Snacks You Enjoy?
On my good days...fruit, Kashi granola bars, almonds & cashews, string cheese
On my "cheat days"...Cheez Its, pretzels, chips & salsa/queso, really anything salty :)

I was born in Nashville, TN, but moved b/f my 1st birthday so I don't really think that counts. I grew up in Houston and moved to College Station for college and never left.

What Are Some Of Your Bad Habits?
Allowing paper/bills to pile up in our office and not filing them. Not hanging my clothes up when I take them off. Being a control freak sometimes.

What Are Some Jobs You Have Held:
Business Manager, Executive Assistant, Director of Administration & HR, and most recently my favorite, a stay-at-home-mom-the hardest but most rewarding job yet!
