We had a wonderful, relaxing Easter this year! On Saturday we made our resurrection rolls and dyed Easter eggs. Sunday we enjoyed a wonderful Easter service and then met the Moffitts and Stricklands for a picnic at the park across from our house. We had a very low-key lunch of fried chicken and then everyone brought a side to share. The kids played and hunted eggs. After the park we headed to celebrate a birthday w/ our sweet aggie Patsy and her family. It was fun to celebrate w/ her and finally meet all of her family. We all went home and took naps which was heavenly and then woke-up and the kids opened their Easter baskets. All in all a very fun and relaxing day!

Easter Garden
One of the things we did to prepare for Easter this year was to make an Easter Garden. I have done this the past couple years and have decided to make it a tradition each year. We got together one afternoon w/ Sara, Elizabeth and all the kids to put them together. We made very "organic" gardens so that the kids could help us. They gathered sticks, dirt, bark, and rocks from the yard and we had a few "pretty" things to add to it. Greyson was very in to it this year which was very fun to talk about the Easter story as we put it together. Davis was more interested in gathering items from the yard. If you've never done this w/ your kids try it next year, it's a fun and easy way to talk about Easter w/ them.

Eggstravaganza
The Thursday before Easter our church hosted "Eggstravaganza"! The kids had a lot of fun doing Easter activities, jumping in the bounce house, eating pizza, and hunting Easter eggs. At the end of all the fun activities our worship leader, Ross King hosted a concert for the kids featuring the songs from his new kids album. If you've never heard it, I highly suggest it-not your typical kids music that you want to pull your hair out if you hear it one more time :)

Monthly Update
Since my new thing seems to be a "monthly blog" instead of a weekly blog, prepare yourselves for a long one.
Our sweet friends the Bailey's made the trek from Abilene Valentine's weekend for a chaotic but fun weekend. 8 adults & 9 kids under one roof-CRAZY, but so fun!! The adults were able to enjoy dinner out w/o the kids Friday night. The weather was cold but pretty so we were able to spend a lot of time outside. Dad was kind enough to let us use his house for the weekend which was great. Despite the craziness during the day, the evenings were quiet and filled w/ fun fellowship w/ the bestest friends in the world!

Late February we got to enjoy snow (yes, for those of you not from Texas it is possible for it to snow here). Sweet Greyson has been praying for snow a lot ever since it snowed last year and his prayer was finally answered. We enjoyed a fun afternoon of daddy coming home from work and playing in the snow with the Moffitt's and Strickland's. Greyson loved it, Davis lasted about 15 minutes and was ready to come inside where it was warm.

Jason celebrated his 31st birthday on February 28th! We decided to celebrate by going camping that weekend with our friends the Shannon's. The Shannon's are responsible for introducing us to camping about 9 years ago way before kids and are the best people to go camping with. We always joke that we eat better camping with them than we do at home! This was Davis' 1st time to go camping and she did great. All the kids had so much fun being outside, exploring, eating s'mores, and just enjoying the simple things in life. Jason and I enjoyed our time in the evenings catching up w/ Heath and Sandy after all the kids had gone to bed. We decided it was a lot of work to go camping w/ kids, but so worth it to get away from technology, stress, etc. and make the memories with our kids. They are still talking about camping and wondering when we are going to go again.

We had our ultrasound on the 22nd and our little baby is healthy and growing just like it should! We did not find out the sex and are so excited to learn if it's a boy or girl in 12 short weeks! We are trying to gear up by getting some projects done around the house. We will be moving Greyson and Davis into the same room in the next couple weeks which they are excited about. They are so excited about the baby! We joke that Davis is going to have her own little baby doll to take care of :)
I have started a new part-time job at our church in the Children's Ministry department. It is a perfect fit for our family and a nice little outlet for me! The Lord is perfect in his timing.
A few weekends ago I was able to get away on our church's women's retreat. It was a sweet time w/ my 2 best friends and the ladies from our homechurch. It was a very relaxing time to reflect on how the Lord is working in my life. I appreciate my sweet husband so much for being super dad that weekend so I could get away!

Spring has arrived and we have enjoyed being outside after the cold winter we have had. We have enjoyed lots of afternoons at the park and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday at the park last weekend. You'll notice in the pictures that Davis got a haircut-almost 5 inches off. It was a little sad I must admit, but we have decided it fits her "sassy" personality perfectly! :)

Greyson has become quite the Lego builder. He is such a creative little guy and it's so fun to watch what he builds and creates.
I'll close w/ this sweet pic I was able to capture this evening as we were leaving Research Park w/ the Moffitts & Stricklands. We enjoyed a late afternoon feeding the ducks and turtles and an early picnic dinner before heading to get some ice cream. As we were walking back to the car we all looked up and saw this. Such sweet friendships have developed b/t the 4 of them that we pray will last a lifetime.

January Catch-up
Now that we are almost half-way through February I'll do a brief recap on our January. Blogging is falling by the wayside these days since I'm preggers-I'm just so tired at night that all I want to do is lay on the couch :) Here is what our January consisted of...
-We had a great New Year's Day w/ our best friends the Stricklands & Moffitts. Kids enjoyed the bouncy house, guys enjoyed football, girls enjoyed hot chocolate buddled up outside, and we all enjoyed black-eyed-peas.
-We finally moved Davis out of her crib and into a big girl bed (more pics to come of her room-still a work in progress). She loves it and has done GREAT in it!
-We had a visit from Uncle Grant & Great Uncle Larry. Greyson loves both of them and enjoyed doing "boy stuff" w/ them out in Poppy's yard.
-We took a trip to Tulsa to see Sito and also got to enjoy some snow while we were there! Greyson LOVED it, Davis liked it for about 5 minutes and then wanted to go inside to drink hot chocolate :)
-We are all very excited about our baby that will be joining us in June! It is growing and so am I :) We are not going to find out the sex this time around so the anticipation is that much more fun. Some of the name ideas that the kids have suggested are baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph-as you can see Christmas is still fresh on the brain. We have not had any suggestions like Comet or Cupid though ;) We have some fun names that we are tossing around, but still have not narrowed it down. We'll keep you posted!

10 Years
December 18th marked 10 wonderful years of marriage to my sweet husband. We were able to get away for a night in Austin to celebrate. We love Austin and were able to enjoy some of our favorite things about it while we were there. We ate at Chuy's for lunch and then headed to the Armadillo Bazaar to listen to music and shop at some local artisan's booths. Later that afternoon we enjoyed Amy's ice cream and spent a good bit of time at REI. For dinner we enjoyed Romeo's and afterwards a drive past the capital which was decorated for Christmas. We slept in Sunday a.m. which was heavenly and enjoyed breakfast at the Omletry-gingerbread pancakes-yum! Our sweet Aggie Patsy was so kind to stay at home w/ the kids while we could get away and relax together. It is hard to believe that 10 years has passed by. When I think back over the years, I still cannot believe how incredibly blessed I am to have Jason as my husband. I love him more each day and still love to spend time w/ him :) We have been through a lot together but I can't imagine experiencing life w/ anyone else. I look forward to the next 10 years as our marriage grows. Happy 10 years J, I love you so much!

Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas! We had lots of time w/ family, yummy food, and the kids got lots of fun things.
Our celebration began a couple days before Christmas when we headed to Houston to spend some time w/ my mom & Jerry. We made gingerbread cookies w/ the kids and enjoyed hanging out and relaxing. Christmas Eve day we headed to Grant & Lauren's to celebrate w/ my grandma, mom, & jerry. Grant and mom fixed a delicious lunch and we all enjoyed being together and exchanging gifts.
After Houston we headed home to CS and went over to my dads to spend time w/ Sito, Poppy, Grant & Lauren, and my grandmother. We had enough food to feed an army and enjoyed having everyone together. Greyson enjoyed playing his new Memory game from Gran & Grandpa Jerry w/ aunt Lauren, Davis, and daddy.
Christmas morning we enjoyed opening presents and seeing what Santa brought just the 4 of us. The kids were so excited when they woke up that morning to see if Santa had come. It was fun to watch the excitement in their eyes as they opened gifts and showed each other what they had received. After we finished our Christmas at home we headed back to dad's to enjoy another Christmas w/ everyone there.
